Bakery brand Country Choice is launching a pizza-to-go concept, in a move designed to “take advantage of the UK’s £5bn pizza market”.

The Flatstone Pizza Co. concept offers part-baked vegan pizza bases, 1.5kg pouches of tomato sauce, and a variety of frozen, chilled, and ambient toppings, including two types of grated cheese.

Step-by-step recipe cards are included to create one of eight pizza combinations – Margherita, Pepperoni, BBQ Chicken, Meat Feast, Hawaiian ham, Ham & Mushroom, Chicken & Pepperoni, and the Plant Lovers Pizza – all of which come with full allergy information.

Also included are chopping boards, knives, squeezy sauce bottles, spoons, portioners, pizza cutters, a pizza peel, and temperature probes, as well as 9″ and 11″ wooden serving boards for table service, recycled Kraft pizza boxes, fully branded labels for take-away, and a handy take-away carry bag for home deliveries.

All pizzas can be assembled and baked in-store via one of three options supplied by Flatstone Pizza Co. – a convection oven, a tabletop pizza deck with a fire-brick base, or a Merrychef oven that “speeds up the cooking time without compromising on quality”.

Free on-site training is available and is supported by online guides and “what to do” cards retailers can refer to.

A range of marketing materials is available for retailers, such as posters, social media graphics and videos, drinks coasters, table talkers, banners, flyers, and menus.

Country Choice’s retail operations manager Neil Lindsell said: “Demand for pizza continues to grow, driven by big brand advertising and the growing home delivery sector.

“As a result, 85% of Brits now buy pizza so there has never been a better time for retailers to add it to their menu.

“The opportunity to include pizza as part of a takeaway or home delivery option is particularly beneficial to a retailer’s food to go offer as it allows them to extend it into the evening and secure incremental sales of accompaniments such as salad and alcohol.’
