McVitie’s encourages individuality with new TV advert

Pladis is kicking off a £1.75m campaign for its McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes brand with a TV advert.

The “Be what they want to be” campaign advert will first air tonight during Channel 4’s Gogglebox and running for five weeks, supported by social media partnerships, influencer activity and an augmented reality experience.

It will feature the brand’s original Jaffa Cakes as well as the latest new launches – Jaffa Cakes Cherry and Jaffa Cakes Passion Fruit – which were launched in January this year.

Emma Stowers, brand director for McVitie’s at Pladis, said: “There really is no better time for retailers to get behind McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes than when exposure is going to be at an all-time high.

“Our goal is to help retailers drive sales by creating a big buzz around this iconic brand and we are really excited to be kicking it all off with our fun and uplifting TV creative when it launches this week.”
