Getir Acquires NYC’s FreshDirect Grocery Delivery Service

No financial details of the transaction were disclosed. Founded in 2002 and currently employing 3,200 people, the Bronx-based FreshDirect is a pioneer in New York City grocery delivery. Grocery conglomerate Ahold Delhaize acquired FreshDirect in November 2020.
