Reports: Walgreens Settles Opioid Claims with New Mexico for $500 Million

Walgreens Boots Alliance has agreed to pay New Mexico $500 million to settle a 2017 lawsuit that claimed the pharmacy chain helped fuel opioid addiction in the state by failing to stop illegal pill sales, according to numerous media reports. The New Mexico settlement, the largest obtained by the state against a single company over opioids, came after a non-jury trial held in 2022.

In May, business and personal cash deposits totalled £2.48 billion. This was up 10% month-on-month (£2.26 billion, April 2023). There were over 5.5 million cash deposit transactions across Post Office’s 11,500 branches in May, up 7.5% year-on-year (5.16 million, May 2022).
