Birth of the Shopping Cart. The first rolling shopping cart was created by a Piggly Wiggly owner in Oklahoma City. Once a regular basket got too heavy, customers headed straight for the check-out line. So in 1936, that store owner introduced a rolling cart to make shopping easier. They don’t.

Even though it was right after 9/11 and the economy was dire, we opened the day after Thanksgiving in 2001, just in time for Christmas, and have been in Abilene, Kansas ever since. We continue to attend shows, expand our social media following, and update our website for improved customer experience. Failure is key to success.
